Shhh! Guess what?

April 14, 2019

You can buy the paperback version of A Savage Trick now!! Yes, today- 9 days early! Why? Because even though the official release date for this next book in my Damaged Heroes series is April 23rd, I needed paperback copies for the upcoming Barbara Vey Reader Appreciation Event. And the only way to get my author copies was to make paperbacks available for you as well!

I’m keeping the news on the down-low to avoid consumer confusion, since all my promotion lists April 23rd, which is when the digital copy releases. But feel free to buy your paperback copy now, yay! I’m thrilled about this story and have already received emails from early readers gushing about the exciting plot. I know you’ll love it too!

Read the excerpt, and make sure you’re signed up for my newsletter because on the official April 23rd release day I’m giving lots of swag away only to subscribers!

Cover Reveal and Excerpt of “A Savage Trick”

March 28, 2019

Here it is! A Savage Trick is available Tuesday, April 23rd, and I’ve set up a pre-order link on Amazon so you can reserve your copy. This is the third book in the Damaged Heroes Series. What’s it about? Here’s the back cover blurb or grab a cup of coffee and enjoy these first three chapters!

I don’t mind confessing, this story took a lot out of me. One of the first craft lessons writers learn is to figuratively drag their protagonist (hero) through the mud. As soon as he stands back up we’re to run him over with a bus. In this particular story, after poor Trick Quinn manages to once again stagger to his feet I lobbed a grenade. He works really hard for his Happily Ever After, and I know this novel will keep you on the edge of your seat!

Would love to know what you think! Have you subscribed to my newsletter? I just sent out free copies of this and Tall, Dark and Damaged,Damaged Heroes Book 1, so sign up and receive inside scoops, books and gifts!

Five teasers for “A Savage Trick”:

December 5, 2018

So, this Teaser game has been going around Twitter all week, and after posting these answers yesterday it occurred to me you might like to know them too! Here are five teasers for A Savage Trick:

My hero, Lieutenant Patrick “Trick” Quinn, is a Zen-like Chicago firefighter, who leads the perfect life: a career he loves, a wife of 19 years and two adorable daughters.

He won the lottery a few years back, and after a lot of marital arguing over whether to spend it or save it, the $4 million is now held in trust for his daughters.

One unremarkable day a process server arrives at the firehouse and hands Trick court papers: a petition for divorce and a temporary restraining order for alleged physical and sexual abuse of his family.

Amid the swift and vicious citywide backlash Trick turns to brothers, Jace and Sean for help proving this is a malicious set up.

My heroine, Muslim-American Zamira Bey is the court-ordered supervisor who joins her bestie, Gretch to discover the twisted secret behind the Quinn marriage, just as the Chicago Islamic community comes under attack.

A Savage Trick, is the third book in my Damaged Heroes series and due out in Spring, 2019. The manuscript is presently with my supremely gifted editor, Anya Kagan of Touchstone Editing. If you’d like to catch up on the series: Tall, Dark and Damaged is the first book, and Capturing the Queen is second. Also! Don’t forget to sign up for my newsletter, because those lucky subscribers get to see my cover reveal first!

So THIS finally happened!

September 12, 2018

I finished Book Three in my Damaged Heroes Series! For some reason, this far into my career, A Savage Trick was the hardest first draft I’ve ever written, clocking in three times longer than my other novels.

The manuscript is due to my editor next Monday, so bear with me as I scramble towards that deadline, then I’ll be back to give you some snippets and blurbs!

Also, now is the time to make sure you’re on my newsletter list, because I’ll be sending out free Advanced Reader Copies and giving away swag in the months to come. Don’t miss out!

My Fan-girl Moment

September 5, 2018
Kristan Higgins and me

Here I am at the RWC18 book signing with Kristan Higgins last week! Ten romance authors met 125 fun, energetic readers at the 3rd Annual Romance, Wine and Chocolate event created by Lorelei’s Lit Lair and hosted by the Alafaya Library in Orlando.  Tickets were free and sold out in twelve hours, so if you want to go next year, join Lorelei’s mailing list before July 1st, 2019!

Besides hanging with Kristan, my favorite moment was when six consecutive readers came up and said, “I’d like to buy all your books, please.” Wow! A glimpse of what it’s like to be famous!
