Check out the huge author names I am book signing with on Aug 31st in Orlando! Thanks to Lorelei’s Lit Lair I’m part of the 3rd AnnualRomance, Wine and Chocolate Reader Event. The keynote speaker is my favorite romance author ever, 2018 Rita Winner, Kristan Higgins. (I have dubbed myself her “#1 Stalker Fan,” and yes, she knows this and has yet to issue a restraining order, so it’s all good!)
Besides hearing from Kristan, there will be free wine and chocolate samples, all authors are bringing cool swag giveaways and I’m signing all three novels. The bad news: this free event sold out within hours, but they do have a waitlist. Can’t hurt to sign up, right? If you aren’t able to be there then the next best way to stay connected with me is through my newsletter. Next month I’ll give my subscribers have an exclusive excerpt of A Savage Trick, which is Book Three in my Damaged Heroes Series.
Have some poolside time this summer and looking for a riveting read? How about winning 21 romantic suspense novels?!
I’m partnering with a bunch of fellow authors here, and giving away a digital copy of Capturing the Queen. On July 18th, one participant will be picked to win ALL of these books, why not you? This giveaway asks you to follow as many of us as you want on our BookBub pages, the more you follow the more chances to win. No spam! All that “following” means is in the future you receive a BookBub notice when our newest release comes out.
Good luck, hope you win, and thank you for sharing this contest!
Seriously, this is a biggie! Capturing the Queenis a finalist in the National Excellence in Romance Fiction Awards. The NERFA winner will be announced in early July; wish me luck! A few months ago Capturing the Queen ended up taking second place in the New England Reader’s Choice contest. (If you haven’t read this romantic suspense yet enjoy the first three chapters!)
Meanwhile, I’m busy, busy, busy writing the next book in the Damaged Heroes Series, which will be: A Savage Trick. As soon as I figure out a bit more of the plot I’ll pass on some details soon, pinkie swear.
How is your summer going? If you’re searching for some riveting beach reads make sure you sign up for my newsletter. In my next issue I’ll spotlight my favorite romance authors. Hope you’re enjoying your summer!
This is SO fun! Have you heard of Book+Main? It’s a free website introducing romance readers to authors in a speed dating type setting. You browse snippets of novels (called bites) that authors have posted and hopefully you’ll discover a new-to-you favorite!
I’ve just spent a totally addictive afternoon choosing and uploading an excerpt from each of my novels and of course, perusing photography websites for the perfect picture to accompany each ‘bite.’ This is a hoot! Check it out and let me know what you think.
And I’d appreciate any suggestions on what to upload next. What scenes from my novels caught your attention?
Aaak! Capturing the Queenis a finalist in the 2018 New England Readers’ Choice Contest! This is an enormously prestigious annual contest hosted by the New England Romance Writers of America. Oh my gosh, I could not be more thrilled!
Here is the invitation I received with it: Please join the New England Chapter of Romance Writers of America® in congratulating the finalists in the 2018 New England Readers’ Choice contest! At the Let Your Imagination Take Flight Conference Awards Luncheon on Saturday, April 29, 2018 we will be announcing winners in each category, as well as the winner of our Grand Prize: a $250 gift certificate from Barclay Publicity!
Off to look at details about this conference! Meanwhile, do you want to read an excerpt?
2018 has started off with a bang! I’ve been invited to speak to organizations and book clubs about the craft of writing (a subject I can talk about until they yank me off-stage with a cane!) I’m also the Conference Coordinator for the Southwest FL Romance Writers event Hearts in the Sand, which is open to the public. If you have even the slightest interest in writing as a hobby or towards publication, this is the conference for you!
Feb 14th, noon: Bonita Bay Women’s Alliance Luncheon Speaker.
Feb 19th, 1p: Bonita Springs Newcomer’s Club Book Club hostess/leader discussing Now that You Mention It by Kristan Higgins, (my favorite author) who will Skype with the members!
Thanks to each of you for your interest and friendship in my books and career this year. It’s been a tumultuous few months after Hurricane Irma, but I know the New Year will bring a clean slate and I have great plans for myself. For you? I wish nothing but the best as well! This is a takeoff on a Buddist Metta prayer I learned a few months ago. Something about the serenity of the words immediately touched my heart and I wish this all of this for you in 2018:
I’m booksigning at Village Walk’s annual Holiday Bazaar this Saturday, Dec 2nd.
2800 Village Walk Blvd, Bonita Springs, FL 34135, MAP
If you’re in the Southwest FL area don’t miss this fun and festive event. Just leave me your name and I’ll call it into the gatehouse. I’d love to see you!
If you’re in Southwest Florida on Thursday, November 2nd, please join me at the Bonita Bay Holiday Bazaar, 10a -3p.
I’m selling my romantic suspense novels, giving away a $25 iTunes raffle prize for any newsletter signups (including signing up on this site) and handing out yummy Lindt chocolates to all! Get your holiday shopping done for the romance reader in your life.
I’m okay! But imagine my surprise…We had no clue Hurricane Irma went directly over our gated community in Bonita Springs until it was in the NYT today. Naturally, the path of the storm must have been reported everywhere, but we just got power back at 3:45am this morning, so we’ve virtually been in a media blackout/intermittent cell service for days.
My husband, 2 Pomeranians and I boarded up our home and bunked with romance writer, (C. F. Francis) and her husband in a home he manages in Lehigh Acres, the highest elevation in SWFL. The eye of Irma passed over there as well! The whole day was definitely a terrifying ordeal, but we all made it without any structural damage or storm surge to that house or both of our own. I’ve posted pictures and videos on my Facebook pages.
When the power went back on this morning, I was up anyway, reading a novel by flashlight. Guess what I immediately did? Yep, cranked up my coffee machine for the first time in three days!
I’m fine, and I am so grateful for all the thoughts, texts and well wishes! I’m also very aware of those who did not fare well, in both SWFL and my hometown of 20 years, Houston.
Please don’t forget: the rest of this week I am participating in donating all proceeds of my Damaged Heroes series to Hurricane Harvey Relief. The page below will take you to the list of all donating authors and their books:
