Do You Have Tips for Writers?

It took over nine years for a publishing company to contract my debut, Locked Loaded and Lying, so my advice is: Don’t ever give up. I know– easy advice, hard to live by, but look at it this way: in this industry patience and perseverance can only help you. In that time you keep learning your craft, understanding the business and networking with other writers.

Luck, talent, professional connections and marketing all play a pivotal role in our careers so it’s a waste of time comparing yourself to any other writer too. Just keep your butt in that chair and write the best book you can. I have a placard of my favorite saying hanging in my office:
